FamilyOnTheRun

We took our daughter to a sport event last day and while we are on the way to the event my daughter out of the blue asked for her clothes. Well, I guess you have already knew it base on the title of this blog. Yes, we ADMITTEDLY forgot her sportswear. Which is funny because we have already prepared for it before hopping into our car.

Since we don’t have time to turn our car back at home anymore, we have no choice but to have a quick trip to Target. Good thing Target sells clothes for ballet, gymnastics, and all kinds of sportswear. Though going to Target means spending money and another out of the budget expense. We’re just lucky that it’s the perfect time to shop! Yep it is! For they are shifting from winter to spring season! Go get some items from the rack for they are all on SALE! Who doesn’t love sale? raise your feet!

It is always better to shop for clothes whenever the store will be shifting from one season to the other. That is if you are a budget wise person though. You can get items with discounts or if you are lucky, you can get items that are half of their original price. But since there are also people like us who loves sale, then you’ve got to be aware of the store`s sale time or else there`ll be no more left for you.

We spent almost $80 for all the clothes she needed which will probably cost more than that if it’s not on sale. Though it would be better if we have brought the clothes along with us, the important thing is our daughter didn’t miss the event.

As parents, we wanted to teach our children so many things so that they could excel and bring the best out of them. We teach them how to read, to write or even ride a bike. Teach them with music and arts, we are so focus with this for their future that some us forgot the main building block for our children`s success –that is to build their personality with good moral values.
Yes, it`s essential because it will be their first stepping stone to be able to cope up with the unending changing world and of our society. For them to succeed we don’t only need to teach them with academics, but we also have to pair it with these top 5 things they need to learn from us.

11.   Teach your child to never stop learning
Learning is an unending process from the day we are born until the day comes for us to leave this world. Encourage your child to trust herself and learn new things. Teach her to be open-minded and receptive to learn about life situations both good and bad.

22.  Teach your child to apologize and forgive when wronged
Don’t let your child hold grudges against someone who has wronged them. The negativity will do them no good. Teach them they have the power to decide how they view people, events, expressions, things that are said to them or about them. They have the power to not let it bother them.

The reverse side of this is for your child to easily apologize. Recognizing a possible mistake or having upset someone else and apologizing for it will make all the difference in their lives. A person who is aware of shortcomings and acknowledges mistakes is a person that will succeed. Because they will not get stuck in the past holding on to negativity and grudges.

33.  Teach your child to step up and be assertive but always be mindful of others
In our modern society today, we won’t be able to climb the ladder to success if we don’t know how to step up. Encourage your child to voice out their opinions so that they could boost their self- confidence which will enhance their skills to communicate effectively. But you should also teach them that they should be mindful of others feelings as well because Their opinion may hurt someone else`s feelings.

44.    Teach your child to be thankful about everything
In order for you to teach them of being thankful or grateful you should be a role model to them.  Always use “thank you” and “please” and make it a rule for them to use it as well. By being grateful, they will be able to appreciate what life is and everything that surrounds them. With this, your child will grow happy and optimistic which will be a great quality to have in order to succeed later on in life.

55.   Teach your child to be compassionate
It is important to raise a compassionate child especially with the world that we are living in right now. Teach them how to be kind and respectful towards others. Explain to them that respect begets respect, that it’s a two way process. Show to your child that every action they made has consequences. With this, it will help them build a good character that will become their ace in the upcoming years.

Having great quality sportswear is a must whether you are an avid sports fan, a workout buff, or simply just trying to embrace a healthier lifestyle. However, just like every other clothing you have, they can become worn out over time.
Worn out sports shoes are very common if you are someone who loves running and joining marathons and if you are an athlete. Once your favourite sports shoes start to wear out, it’s time to find a new pair. You might get tempted to keep on using it, especially if it was an expensive pair. However, running and working out on worn out shoes are very detrimental to your health. It could lead to injuries like Achilles Tendonitis and knee pain.
Replacing your old and worn out sports shoes can be very costly. Buying cheap, second hand sports shoes is a very appealing option to someone with a tight budget. However, insides of such second hand already has the previous owner’s feet molded into it. This greatly affects the fit of the shoe and makes it very uncomfortable to wear.
Another disadvantage of buying second hand shoes is that there are limited sizes available. Wearing the wrong size can cause a lot of problems like athlete’s foot, ingrown nails, hammer toes, corns and bunions. When it comes to buying sports shoes, it is definitely better to invest in high quality ones to protect your feet. There are now a lot of online stores that sell inexpensive and high quality shoes. Here are our favorites:
6pm.com
You’ll find a lot of your favorite clothing, shoe, bag and accessory brands in this website being sold at incredibly cheaper prices.  In 6pm.com, Nike Air Diamond Trainers that are originally worth $60 are being sold for $30 only. This website offers a lot of times with very deep price cuts. Because of the cheap prizes, some might assume that this website is to god to be true and that they could be selling fakes. However, that is not the case. What 6pm.com does is that they sell discontinued products, old styles and clearance merchandise.
You can assure that you won’t be buying fakes, defects, or factory seconds when you visit their website. There are currently 1232 brands that you can choose from including Nike, Adidas, Skechers, Keds, Reebok and a lot more.
6pm.com was acquired in 2007 by Zappos.com, also an online shoe and clothing store. In 2009, Zappos.com was also acquired by Amazon.

FamousFootwear.com
Famous footwear is a nationwide chain of retail stores found in the United States. Just like 6pm.com, they are selling branded footwear, which are mostly at discounted prices. It has more than 1000 stores nationwide. You can find a lot of discounted shoes in their website from different brands like Nike, Puma, Adidas, etc. Their discounted prices can range from 10 - 30% off. Footwear that are originally worth $60 are now being sold for as low as $30 only. You can really save a lot from bucks from this website. There are currently more than 100 brands that you can find on their website including Nike, New Balance, Adidas, Asics, Fila, Converse, and more.
Sportsshoes.com
This family run online sports clothing store has sold nearly two million pairs of sports shoes when they started. They sell shoes and sportswear for more than 100 brands. In 2015, sportshoes.com was ranked in 30th place in the Investec Mid-Market 100 list of the fastest growing businesses in the UK.
This website is great to use for athletes because they have a variety of shoes sorted by sport. They have shoes from basketball, handball, cricket, rugby, triathlon, tennis, basketball, football, hockey, boxing and even for swimming. All of their shoes are discounted. You can save almost $70 dollars on one pair of shoes. You can choose from a variety of the footwear brands that they have, ranging from well-known brands like Nike and Adidas to smaller brands.
Shopping has become easier because of the rapid growth of online shopping. Different online shops and websites are being created, providing more options for consumers to choose from. When choosing for the perfect sport shoes for you, don’t just focus on the price. These online shops will definitely keep your feet protected by providing high quality shoes for you to choose from without breaking the bank.

Finding the perfect balance between working, taking care of the kids, and finding time for yourself can be very hard to do. You have to work and provide for your family but you also have to take care of your kids and make sure that they get to do the things that they want. On top of that, you also have your own dreams and ambitions to fulfil. How can you find manage to find time for each of that without sacrificing something?
As a parent, you always want the best for your kids. You want them to become successful in whatever they want to do, grow up versatile and well-rounded, and hone their skills and talents. Finding the perfect balance while managing a household is already hard to do. When your children’s extracurricular activities enter the picture, it becomes twice as hard. It can get very stressful and harder to manage your time. You want your children to try as many things as they want to but at the same time, you can’t be there for them all the time because of work and time constraints. You begin to feel like you’re missing out on your family life. It gets very frustrating and you might feel like breaking down sometimes. Here are some tips that can help you regain control in your life.
Find Stability in Yourself
In finding the perfect balance, you have to reflect on yourself first. Is your job taking over your life and overwhelming you all the time or does it make you feel uninspired? Before you can find balance in your life, you have to first find stability within yourself. If you feel like your work is becoming more and more of a nuisance, then it must be time to find another job.
If you don’t want to quit your job, an alternative would be to talk to your employer. If your job is severely affecting your family life, be as open and honest to your employer as possible. Find out if you can adjust your work schedule and make it more flexible. Don’t forget to assure your employer that adjusting your schedule will not affect your performance and productivity.
Your job shouldn’t take up all your time. It has to be something that challenges you but at the same time, provides you enough time for your family.
Spend Time with Your Family
Communication is very important in keeping bonds close and preventing misunderstandings to happen. Find time to keep up with your children. Have dinner with them and ask them about school or their extracurricular activities. Talk to them and tell them how your day went. Ask them how they are feeling and if they have any problems at school or at home. Creative fun rituals like movie nights or other special family activities that can fit in your schedule.
For children with a lot of after school activities, you have to be careful that they down burn themselves out. If they do too much on top of attending school, they can become exhausted. These extracurricular activities are supposed to help them improve their skills and become more versatile and adaptable. It shouldn’t be something that causes them stress or pressure. Make sure to talk to your children about their after-school activities.
Have they lost interest in a certain activity or do they still want to do it? Narrowing their activities to one or two can be very beneficial to them. It can keep them from becoming worn out and they have a lot of time left on their hands to socialize with their friends and spend time with the family. Another thing to keep in mind is to never push your children to do something that they don’t want to do just because it was something that you never got to do when you were younger.
Spend Some Quality Time with Your Partner
When trying to find balance between work and family life, spending time with your children might be your first concern. However, your partner can also feel neglected, more so if both of you are working. You start to spend less time with other, and you have no opportunities to go out and have fun. If it’s too hard to spend time outside your home, you can still spend time indoors. Have a dinner date with just the two of you and talk.
Taking care of your relationship will not only strengthen your bond and marriage but it can also help regain balance in your work and family life.
The most important thing that you should keep in mind is to accept that life is not perfect. You will always experience ups and downs and imbalance in both your work and your family life but that doesn’t mean that you are doing a bad job at finding stability in your life. Always remember that although there is nothing wrong with working hard to provide for your family, what matters most in the end is not what you have but the memories you have made with each other.

Skiing is a great way to enjoy some quality time with your family while still having fun. You can create a lot of memories for your kids and yourself. However, it can be a very expensive one. You have to lift ticket, clothing, gear, lodging, food and more to worry about. If you have very little knowledge on budgeting during skiing trips especially with your children in tow, here are some tips that can help you enjoy your vacation without spending too much.
Buying or Renting Ski Gear and Equipment
If you haven’t bought any ski gear yet, borrowing from people you know can save you hundreds of dollars. Ask your relatives, friends or neighbors if they have ski clothing that they are willing to lend. If you can’t borrow clothing and you need to buy, you can save money looking through sale items from specialty shops. You might find highly discounted clothing that will fit your budget. When buying clothing for your children, keep this in mind if you have a growing family— buy clothing in unisex colors. This way, there will be no problems in handing down clothes to your children.
In regards to ski equipment, the best way to save money is to rent the equipment as early as possible. If you don’t go skiing all the time, you don’t need to buy equipment that you will probably use just once a year. Renting equipment earlier is cheaper than walking into a ski shop in the last minute. Make sure to rent it somewhere closer to you hope than to the ski resort you will be going to because the rates will definitely be cheaper. However, if you prefer to buy equipment but you don’t want to spend too much, buying secondhand is a great choice. There are a lot of websites where you can find secondhand ski equipment. Make sure to check the equipment thoroughly before you buy it.
If you know a lot of people who ski frequently, you can also do trades or swaps with them. Ski clothing and equipment don’t usually wear out quickly because they are only worn a few times in a year.
Booking of the Trip
This is probably the most well-known tip but a lot of people still forget to do this. Make sure to book early. You can save a lot of money and you can have more time to prepare for the trip too.
By booking and planning your trip early, you’ll be able to find a lot of great deals like family packages and other discounts. Make sure to visit websites that offer them regularly and look out for the ones that is family-friendly. Make sure to look out for packages that gives children free admission and those which include lift tickets, shuttle and accommodations.
Food and Lodging
Packed lunches and snacks are very inexpensive compared to buying food at the ski resort café that you are going to. Make sandwiches for your entire family and stock up on your favorite snacks and drinks. Water can be very expensive to don’t forget to stock up on that too.
When looking for lodging, it is highly recommended to find one that has a kitchen included. Instead of eating out or buying take out, you can save a lot more money cooking and preparing your own food. However, make sure to explore all lodging choices that you can find. Pick the best one that would suit your family and your budget. It is great to find a lodging with a kitchen but it would make no sense if nobody in the family knows how to cook. There are a lot of options you can choose from so make sure to check and compare every single one before making your reservation.
Choose Weekdays or Travel Midweek
Weekends, holidays, and school breaks are considered as peak times for ski travel. This means that more people will be going to ski resorts. This can make the prices of lift tickets and lodging more expensive. When you choose to travel and go to a ski resort on weekdays, you don’t only get to save money but you can also have a lot more fun with lesser people around to bump into.
Make sure to keep these things in mind while planning your next ski trip with your family. It’s is important to save money but don’t forget the reason why you came there. Have fun, bond and enjoy your skiing trip with your loved ones.
