Have you ever suffered from seasonal allergies? Sneezing like crazy in front of everybody and been debating with yourself on whether you should rub your eyes or not. How frustrating isn’t? that you have to deal with it every year when pollens are flying everywhere.

Then we look for a “cure” that will somewhat help us in elevating the suffering that we have to endure during these seasons. Over the counter medicines are readily available for consumption but being dependent on these kinds of drugs will somehow makes our body immune to it overtime. Though antihistamine drugs are effective, it can have side effects such as dry mouth, drowsiness and the worst is seizures. That is why it is better to find natural remedies and since I am a fan of tea, I found out about nettle tea.

“Why nettle tea? Isn`t that the one that stings” yes, nettles are the plants that attacks your legs when you go hiking. It may sound strange to you that a plant like this would help you with your allergies but they are actually the very solution to your problem. But of course, every individual is different so you may want to consult with your health care practitioner first before adding nettle to your diet.

Nettles have anti-inflammatory qualities that`s why they will work with interfering the overproduction of histamines in our body. It is best to start drinking the nettle tea when the symptoms first appear.

Though you may not like the grassy taste of nettle tea especially if you are not a fan of tea at all. You may want to find a tea that has a peppermint or vanilla or any taste that you prefer such as The Republic of Tea`s Peppermint Vanilla Nettle blend or . If you can`t find it, you can experiment a little bit with the plain nettle tea that you have. Add some bag of peppermint tea or use some local honey along with it.

To get all the benefits from it, let it seat for at least ten minutes. Cover it while you wait, we don’t want the important stuffs to get evaporated along with the steam. Now you can finally enjoy the beauty of spring.
